“Far from a Harvard student, just had the balls to do it.” One of my all time favorite quotes. I studied art in Italy for a few months with my homie @yung_brett and somehow mid-trip my iPod deleted almost everything I had. One of the albums I was left with was the Black Album. I took it as a sign and studied it like a gospel, word for word. I am forever average in most things. I forever struggle with most things, but when I want something — hell or high water doesn’t stop me and that’s my biggest blessing. I am forever grateful I have that and not talent. This Harvard quote stuck with me forever. Anyway, here’s a commission I just finished for my dude Patrick. “JAY” - 40” x 30”, acrylic and cut-paper on canvas. Bunch more new-new coming soon ✌🏼PHOTO: @katherine_kirchner

Hitting the reset button...
Instagram fam, it's been a wild ride. We've been together since 2011! I owe you a huge debt of gratitude -- you're one of the major reasons I've been able to sustain myself as a full-time artist. You were an instrumental platform in helping me build and create hype, and you also helped connect me with so many amazing and supportive people all around the world......but, with the good also comes the bad, and like all good things, it's time to come to an end (sorta).
If you've spent any amount of time with me in person, it's probably pretty apparent that I have a deep disdain for the way things are in the art world. The gatekeepers, the artists stealing from other artists, the lack of morals in this industry. I've become really jaded and have found that it's negatively affected my attitude, my relationships with people, my creativity, and my art (I'm a diva). In order for me to get back to a better place in art, I need to start-over with a fresh perspective. Self admittedly, I've also stopped progressing as an artist. I stopped growing and I became too comfortable with this brand I built. It became bigger than me and I lost control of it. Thus, I need a reset. For me, a reset looks like starting over from scratch. I need to cut ties with the fake love, the yes-men, the gatekeepers, and the overall toxic environment that came with a brand growing faster than I could keep up with. I want to regain creative control and content control. I'm going to be cutting ties with most - if not all - of my licensing companies to limit how saturated my work has become in the market. From day one it was always about the art and creating something that was both authentic and unique, and connected with people, but I lost control of all of that. With that being said, I've remade a new Instagram account with the name @thekylemosher. I've been thinking about this for over a year now, and today was the final tipping point. I want this to be a more intimate and real relationship between the audience and myself. The power should always be in the hands of the artists and their collectors, not the galleries and gatekeepers. For those that want to come along for this new journey, take a second a give me a follow. Lots of big changes on the way and the best art is yet to come, I'm sure of it. Really appreciate everyone for following along.

Novel Noda Mural in Charlotte
Just wrapped up a 16ft x 22 ft mural at the new Noval Noda community here in Charlotte. This mural was inspired by an old boxing gym that once resided where the community now stands. It's my understanding that the brick wall upon which the mural is painted is actually the original brick wall of this old gym, which is cool seeing as that particular space has now been turned into the new complex's fitness center. As for the subject matter, there are two vintage boxers squaring off with each other, which is meant to represent the fight between the old and the new of our ever-growing city -- celebrating what was once there, as well as what is there now. Although it is sad to see things being torn down, it's also exciting to watch firsthand as Charlotte grows and finds its identity. I do think it's important that we remember the history of this city though, and as older buildings come down and new ones go up, I feel that incorporating culture and art into them is a vital way to breathe life into these new spaces, as well as an opportunity to celebrate the city's history.
New Original Paintings 2017
I'm currently working on a new series of original paintings for 2017. What to expect: a series of twelve to fifteen paintings, all fairly large in size (48" x 36" and larger), featuring some elements from my 2016 series while exploring a bunch of new color palettes. Each painting is 48" x 36" acrylic and mixed media on gallery wrapped canvas and is currently available for sale. Please email Me@KyleMosher.com for pricing and other inquiries. Super stoked to drop a bunch of new original paintings this year. My Gallery Page is updated as each new painting is finished.
New Limited Edition Prints "Hood Santa: Ricky Ross"
"Hood Santa: Ricky Ross" - This is a year in the making. Found a bunch of vintage wrapping paper last year and wanted to do this, but never got inspired enough. Absolute huge Ross fan, as soon as I saw the Santa paper I knew it needed to be Rozay's beard. That's what kicked everything off. This is available only through me as a limited edition print. There will only be 20 available as a 40" x 30" gallery wrapped print. Each is $300 and comes hand signed, numbered, ready to hang with free domestic shipping. Inquiries and ordering through email only: Me@KyleMosher.com.
Big News
Greetings guys and gals,
I apologize in advance for the novel, but thought I would share some pretty big personal news with you all.
On October 12th I will finally be undergoing a much needed and long awaited second -- and hopefully last -- shoulder surgery to repair an old hockey injury. This one is much larger in scale than the one I had done in 2005, as it is a total reconstruction (also known as a latarjet procedure). The recovery for this procedure is six months with 6-8 weeks of complete immobility. Though I am hopeful for a speedy recovery, I will inevitably be unable to create art for at least the first couple of months following the surgery. With that being said, I just wanted to give you all a heads up in case anyone has any last minute print /original purchases you've been considering, or commission work you'd like done, which would greatly help me put some cash away for bills and such while I'm out of commission. This is a great opportunity to get some one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts out of the way really early ;)
I appreciate everyone taking the time to read this update. You can find a complete listing of my gallery wrapped prints here: http://kylemosher.com/prints. If you're interested in pricing and sizing of commissions and originals please shoot me an email here: Me@KyleMosher.com.
Much love everyone and thank you for the continued support.
Cheers,
-Kyle
The Social Media Trap
Social media is a powerful thing, but it can also be misleading. People have a tendency to show off the good things in life: their money, their bodies, their toys -- I've certainly been guilty of this myself at times. Unfortunately, this creates a skewed version of what success looks like. I've been chasing this entrepreneur artist gig for a long time now -- seven years to be exact. If there's one thing I can tell you, it's that there have been way more failures then there have been accomplishments. The past four months especially have really tested my dedication. To be quite honest, I've been so focused and dedicated to my craft (as well as stubborn) that I've been hard to be around and I've unintentionally alienated a lot of people as a result of this. It's also really made me question my ability to go the distance in the art world. In an attempt to be as transparent as possible, and hopefully inspire those that are also on their grind and may find themselves struggling, here's a list of the less than glamorous things happening in my professional world that "successful" people don't show on social media: Numerous shady people have come into my life and taken without ever giving anything in return, countless deals have gone sideways, I've been turned down by every major gallery that I've applied to in 2016, and a general dark cloud of negativity has been hanging over my professional life. Success isn't linear, it's a roller coaster ride. I salute everyone out there that has "made it," but I salute those who have not yet made it but refuse to give up even more so. The world may not be ready for you just yet, but eventually, if you push hard enough, something will give. Much love to everyone that has supported me on this journey. Cheers! 🍻

I highly suggest checking out the other winners at the Charlotte ASC website. So keep your eyes peeled ;). Much love everyone
Kyle Mosher x Boston Skyline Art
No matter where I live, Boston will always have a special place in my heart. Boston is hard, it's cold, and it's unforgiving. It's also beautiful and rich in history. The oldest part of our nation. It shaped who I am. It chewed me up and spit me back out on many occasions. I remember, at times, not having enough money for food or gas. I am forever grateful for all the hard lessons it taught. My newest giclee gallery wrapped print, "Beantown" available in 4 different sizes. Starting at $150, comes hand signed, ready to hang, with free domestic shipping. I do have a black floating frame option available on all sizes as an added extra. Email only for all inquiries: Me@KyleMosher.com.
Mike's Harder Contest Voting - I Need Your Help!
I need your help! I absolutely HATE this part of my job, but I really need your help. If you guys could shoot me a vote for this Mike's Harder Can Design Contest I'd be forever grateful. You can vote once a day and it only takes a second! Forgive me as I will probably post this a few more times. Voting ends December 16th. The grand prize is my work on the can and $10,000! They will be picking 3 winners total. I very much appreciate your time and if you help spread the word. It is against the contest rules to give anything away in exchange for votes or else I'd give everyone a print. All I have to offer is my deepest thank you! New Body of Work for 2016
I am constantly pushing myself to grow as an artist. For those who are familiar with my work, I am headed in a new direction for 2016 and beyond. My signature aesthetic will not change, but the style and subject matter will be slightly different. When I set out on this journey seven years ago my goals were completely different. I achieved everything I wanted and more. Now, I have new goals and a new vision for my art. My goal for 2016 is to push my work in a more conceptual and sophisticated direction. There will be a heavy Cy Twombly and Rauschenberg influence. Lots of stylized visual story telling and symbolism. Also, there will be a lot of really large paintings in terms of size. I am currently working closely with a New York City gallerist for the direction of this new body of work. I am really stoked to spread my wings creatively and embark on this new direction.

Radeberger Tastemaker Collective Presents: Kyle Mosher x Decora
Radeberger Pilsner brings together visual artist Kyle Mosher and Hip-Hop artist Decora in celebration of their “Tastemaker Collective.” Mosher is a full-time artist from Charlotte, NC who uses cut vintage paper and acrylic paint to create his signature portraits. Decora is a multifaceted hip-hop artist and poet hailing from the Hudson Valley in New York, creating music that spans across the fine arts, fashion, and cultural spheres. The two met at Mosher’s studio in Charlotte for an all out creative pow-wow. Mosher created one of his signature portraits while Decora rhymed a few a cappella bars from the track “Something” off his debut album, “Bread and Oats”. See how the creative process unfolds.
