Mac Miller Tribute Portrait

One of the hardest things that no one tells you about chasing your dreams is the loneliness and alienation that comes with the journey. If we give everything to our craft what’s left for the people we love or ourselves? Mac Miller’s last album is the epitome of finding and crafting art from our inner soul even if that means going to some pretty dark places. A painfully honest and beautifully introspective look into the depths of his being. He put it all on the table. As an artist, no album has ever, or probably will ever, make more sense to me then, “Swimming.” It paralleled everything I was going through last year. I’m forever grateful for people like Mac Miller who are unapologetically flawed and yet real and brave enough to give everything they have to their craft. That level of commitment makes me feel a little less crazy and a little less lonely on my own journey.

Medusa was so beautiful she was the only woman who was able to steal Poseidon away from Athena, the goddess of beauty. Kadi Fit Mural 2018

There are two battles raging. One with the person inside of us and one with the person across of us. Once you master the person inside of you the person outside doesn’t matter. I wanted to use my signature boxers and this wall to remind those people who are working on improving themselves of the battle that really matters. Collaboration is King Book Release Event

Appreciate everyone rolling out to the Collaboration is King event on Wednesday. Truly grateful for all the love and support. I’ve been at this for nine years and seeing people come together to support myself and other artists never gets old. Alright guys and girls here’s another brand new limited edition print. Cooked this up probably 3/4 months ago. I’ve been going so hard on the original paintings I wanted to get back to some conceptual commercial projects. The vision I have for my art is to harmoniously in galleries, on billboards, in the digital space, on products, and everything in between. The intersection of fine-art and commercial media was the goal when I stared down this road nine years ago. My entire scenario project was based on this idea. "I feel you" Kate Spade Tribute Painting

We’ve lost some amazing people to their own demons the last few months. The series I am currently working on is an embodiment of my own struggles facing down various demons, my own anxiety and depression included. I struggle to find something tasteful and meaningful to write as a tribute; the only thing that seems fitting is, “I feel you.” Reading the sea of comments to the tune of “she had all the money and all the fame”, really shows how little people know about anxiety, depression, and just the general struggle of existing in this world sometimes. Anxiety and depression do not care whether you're rich or poor, black or white, woman or man, or anything in between. Mental health isn’t black and white. Sometimes it’s extremely grey and we don’t even realize we are struggling with it. It can manifest as cloudiness, lethargy, self doubt, withdrawal and so much more. I created this piece as a tribute to Kate, in an attempt to do my part to raise awareness. She was amazing. Though her accomplishments speak for themselves, what was happening on the inside didn’t/couldn’t and will never get the chance to, but, I feel you. I forget who the comedian was but he said something that has resonated with me. It goes something like, “someone asked me what it was like finally becoming famous and I said 'it sucks'. And they asked why and I said, 'because no one asks how I’m doing anymore. Everyone just assumes I’m okay'.” That is one of the most real and accurate things I’ve ever read. Be a friend, be real, acknowledge that life is hard sometimes and please, don’t just assume everyone is okay. Being real about our feelings can still be cool, I promise. “I feel you” 36” x 24” acrylic and vintage paper on canvas.
